Fire

A burning building looting event.

Fire is a dangerous hazard found mainly in burning houses as well as a few other locations.

Fire is harmful to both players and zombies and can either be advantageous or detrimental depending on how it is used. AI-controlled survivors will make an effort to avoid coming into contact with flames, but zombies will mindlessly walk through them, quickly burning up and dying.

Fire can be countered with the Phoenix trait, which makes a survivor completely immune to fire damage. This trait, especially when looting alone, is able to make effective use of incendiary weapons. Additionally, Pyromaniac is fireproof.

Incendiary Weapons[]

Incendiary weapons are capable of creating patches of fire or directly igniting zombies. Fire can slowly spread through to other zombies and is an effective, albeit risky, way to quickly clear out large hordes.

Locations[]

Fire is the primary feature of the Burning House ABL event, and the Raging Inferno by extension. An incendiary weapon can often be found in these locations. Additionally, car tunnels with burning cars are present, and the Trader Inferno is a camp that is completely engulfed in flames.

Crashing the car at the Canadian border will also usually inflict some burning damage.

Trivia[]

  • Potential future updates include additional counters to fire, such as asbestos spray and a fire extinguisher.
  • Using fire is the only way to kill the Prime Minister of Canada, which will result in losing the game, but is worth an achievement.
