  • Start with a water pump, up to 30 charges that knock zombies over and extinguish fires, refills between ABL events.

Jack of Trades Indecisive. Does a little bit of everything.
  • Gain 1 point in all skills across the board.
Rainmaker Enjoys precipitation a little too much. May perform a rain dance.
  • Gain a temporary dexterity boost in ABL events during rain
  • Increases the chance of rain to occur by 10%

Increased attitude and morale from text events that invoke rain (Cloud Watching, Driving in Bad Weather, Horrible Weather, Miserable Camping, and RUFFIN IT)

Valiant A true hero to their allies. The punching bag.
  • Hangs on by the skin of their teeth to protect their friends
  • Does not condone criminal behavior

Characters with this trait gain the Heroic stat combo (high loyalty + high composure).

Zombie Bait Zombies are attracted to you! Maybe it's your perfume.
  • Zombies are more likely to attack you than other teammates! Does not provoke unprovoked zombies.
  • Gain a point in vitality

Heroic characters are able to take a hit for the entire team during text events where everyone would take damage, reducing them to a single hitpoint. Additionally, they will lose a significant amount of morale from bandit behaviors, and they receive a discount from melee weapons traders (1-3 food discount).

Medical and Mechanical Proficiency

Each level of Medical provides a stamina bonus when using medicine-related melee weapons, allowing medics to have a small combat advantage early on that will be mostly obsolete late game as better weapons are acquired.

Shields

Shields are a new type of weapon that function as a form of protection against hordes of zombies. When a player wields a shield, the shield acts similarly to picked up furniture, allowing a player to knock over zombies that are in the way by ramming into them. Additionally, the shield will absorb zombie damage until breaking when facing an attack head on. Shields do not provide any offensive capabilities.

Shields follow three basic stats:

  • Size - Wider shields will be able to knock down more zombies at once.
  • Weight - Heavier shields impose a dexterity penalty while being used depending on strength.
  • Durability - Shields have a vitality score that reduces with each successful zombie bite.
